Rew-Power Air is the first hydrogen-air reversible fuel-cell completely
handmade in
Because of the scarcity of the primary sources of energy, the increase
of harmful emissions, the rising of demand of energy and the expected increase
of the world’s population is necessary a reconsideration about our systems to
produce and provide energy. A possible solution to these problems could be the
use of hydrogen as a fuel. To get power hydrogen can be burnt in a burner or
used in a fuel-cell; with in both cases a minimum environmental impact, but in
second case there’s the advantage of high performances.
Fuel-cell is a device which allows to transforms chemical energy of the
fuel directly in electrical energy without combustion.
Hydrogen on supplying combines itself with oxygen in the fuel-cell to
produce a water molecule and electrical energy.
There’s the problem regarding the production of hydrogen, in fact in
nature it doesn’t exist “free”.
Actual methods of production to be economically competitive use fossil
fuels. The unique valid, available and ecological alternative is the
electrolysis: this process uses an electrolytic cell, supplied by water, to
separate water molecule in 2 hydrogen molecules and 1 oxygen molecule.
