Plastic polymer Nafion® N-115 PFSA DuPontTM, universally used as an electrolyte base for ionic exchange of PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel-cells and electrolysers, is a simple transparent membrane. Thus the membrane performs as a separator and solid electrolyte in a variety of electrochemical cells that require the membrane to selectively transport cations across the cell junction. The polymer is chemically resistant and durable.

It's a thin transparent plastic film able to transport  H⁺ ions through the polymer structure and N-115 features a thickness of 127um.
